Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra on Saturday stressed the need to focus on the quality of work. He made this statement during the National Youth Festival held in the national capital Delhi, when he was met by Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Chairman S. N. Last year, Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy had also sparked a debate by saying that youth should be ready to work 70 hours a week.

Actually, S. N. Subramanian had commented a few days ago that employees should work 90 hours a week and should not take leave even on Sundays. This comment started a debate on social media. He said, “How long can you stare at your wife?” Many people disagreed with this comment. However, Anand Mahindra responded by saying that the debate is being focused only on the quantity of work, whereas the real issue is the quality of work.

“Quality of work is most important”

He said, “I say that we should focus on the quality of work, not the quantity of work. Whether you work 40 hours, 70 hours or 90 hours, if you can change the world in 10 hours, that’s it.” Matters. So the question is, what kind of brain makes the right decisions? Emphasis on spending time with family and friends

Giving examples, he said that people with backgrounds like engineers and MBAs should study art and culture so that they can take better decisions. Mahindra underlined the need to spend time with family and friends, saying, “If you’re not spending time at home, if you’re not spending time with friends, if you’re not reading, if you’re not thinking, -If there is no time to reflect, how will you bring the right inputs into decision making?”

“We will only be in the office all the time…”

Citing the example of his automobile manufacturing company Mahindra & Mahindra, Anand Mahindra said, “We have to decide what the customer wants in a car. If we are only in the office all the time, not with our families, we will When we are not with our families, how will we understand what people want to buy? What kind of car do they want to sit in? Mahindra is often asked by his followers on the social media platform ‘X’ about how much time he has and that to work Answering this, the industrialist said, “I want to tell people that I am on ‘X’, not because my wife is very beautiful. I like to watch it. I don’t come here to make friends because it’s a wonderful business tool, I have 1.1 million people on it. Get a response from.” (with language input)
