Sayajari Rao built the school in 1888 Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad of Vadodara built this school in the year 1888. The school has been restored and preserved. This school came into discussion after Narendra Modi became the Chief Minister. When he became the Prime Minister, the Gujarat government had decided to develop it as a model school and make it an inspiration centre. Now the Central Education Department has launched an online portal for the study tour of students from all over the country. Children from all over India are coming to study in this primary school of Modi. Along with studies, food and accommodation facilities are also available here.
From January 15, 2024 till now, 820 students from 410 districts of the country have visited here.
10 students from all over the country come here to study for a week. The Education Department had released a plan to start the Prerna program in June 2023. Under this, every month 20 students (students from class 9 to 12) from all over the country will come to this school to study here for a week. Apart from this, students are also taken on a tour to the historical places of Vadnagar. This includes students from 6 states Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Daman.

Modern sports complex worth Rs 33.50 crore in Vadnagar Along with the school campus, a modern sports complex worth Rs 33.50 crore has also been built in Vadnagar. This will also be inaugurated by Home Minister Amit Shah. The 400 meter outdoor sports complex built at a cost of Rs 9.25 crore on a total land of 34235 square meters has all the outdoor-indoor sports facilities. Sports including synthetic athletic track, volleyball ground, astroturf football ground, Kabaddi and Kho-Kho will be played.
Built at a cost of Rs 3.5 crore, this multipurpose indoor has facilities for sports like badminton, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, judo, gym etc. The campus development at a cost of Rs 7.01 crore includes storm water drainage, heritage main gate, security cabin and electric room, compound wall, internal road, common toilet block, parking shed and landscaping facilities. This complex is set to become a landmark for the players for these games with the capacity of a coaching center which will provide facilities and amenities to the players.
A sports hostel with a capacity of 200 beds has also been prepared.
An open ground will also be available for athletics District Sports Officer Viralbhai Chaudhary said that a sports hostel with a capacity of 200 beds (100 boys + 100 girls), which also includes a coach’s office, has also been constructed in the sports complex at a cost of Rs 13.74 crore. Rector’s Quarters, Guest Room, Suite Room, Special Room, Entertainment Room, Electric Room, Kitchen, Canteen, Pantry, Store Room, Wash Room, Changing Room, Toilet Block, Solar System, R.O. System is also available. An artificial grass football field and open field for athletics will also be available here.
Amit Shah, along with CM Patel, will also hold discussions with the students and parents of Prerna Sankul. Along with this, he will attend the 18th convocation ceremony at Ganpati University, Kherwa. The Home Minister will also be accompanied by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, State Health Minister Hrishikesh Patel, State Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi, State Tourism Minister Mulu Bera and State Cooperation Minister Jagdish Vishwakarma.
