The election of 8 municipal corporations, 22 municipalities and 4 city councils of Haryana will be announced today (4 February). A press conference has been called by the Haryana Election Commission at 4 pm. Chief Electoral Officer Dhanpat Singh will announce this.

From notification of elections to results, the entire election process will take about 25 days. Government gave January 4 date in High Court During the hearing of a case in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the Haryana government had assured that the election would be announced before January 4. Elections will be held by 4 February.
The state had informed the High Court that the entire process would eventually be completed within a month to announce the results. The assurance was given by the state in response to a petition, in which instructions were sought to hold the municipal elections.

In the first phase, Gurugram, Faridabad and Manesar Municipal Corporations and Ambala Cantt, Pataudi and Sirsa Municipal Councils were included. Panipat, Hisar, Rohtak and Yamunanagar were included in the second phase of elections. The elections of Thanesar and Kalanwali were also included in the second phase.
BJP will contest elections only on party symbol After winning the assembly elections, Haryana BJP has already announced that it will contest all the municipalities on its party symbol. The Congress traditionally contests the election of municipal corporations including the mayor on its party symbol. However, a formal decision to this effect is yet to be taken by the party high command.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has also announced to fight on all MC election party symbol. Other parties in the state also contest on the party symbol. Some municipal bodies also support the candidates with ‘equal ideology’.
Election Commissioner said- Election will be held from EVM State Election Commissioner Dhanpat Singh has informed that civic elections in the state will be held from EVM. He said that in the year 2022, 46 bodies and last year panchayat elections were also held from EVM itself. Engineers from Hyderabad have completed the investigation of EVM at the district level in the state. The Commission is ready to conduct elections through EVM.
