These farmers have been booked under sections 307 (attempt to murder), 353 (assault on government servant), 341 (wrongful restraint), 186 (obstructing government work), 149 (unlawful assembly) and National Highway Act of the Indian Penal Code. Kamaljeet Singh, one of the main accused farmers in this case, had filed a petition for anticipatory bail, which was rejected by the court. The court said in its order that this type of lapse in the security of the Prime Minister is a very serious matter and no laxity can be done in it.
