There are many features available on WhatsApp, but it is not possible for everyone to have complete information about each and every feature. There are two settings available on WhatsApp which protect your data from excessive expenditure. It is possible that your mobile data is being consumed more due to these two settings. If you are troubled by the problem of mobile data usage, then you should check your WhatsApp immediately.
First check this setting
If you want to save your mobile data from being spent, then for this you have to open your WhatsApp. After this, you have to click on the 3 dots visible on the top right side and go to the settings option. After going to settings, you have to click on the option of storage and data.
On the option of storage and data, you will find the option of Use Less data for Calls below network usage. If you have kept this option off i.e. disabled then turn it on. This feature will help in saving your data.

Apart from this, another WhatsApp setting prevents your data from being consumed excessively. Below the Use Less data for Calls option, you will see the option of Media Upload Quality. Tap on it. In this feature you get two options which include standard quality and HD quality. If you want to save your mobile data then you should choose the standard quality option. If you choose HD Quality, then when you send a photo or document to someone, more data will be consumed.
