Bumrah has bowled and batted brilliantly in the third test match. Bumrah took 6 wickets in the first innings and 3 wickets in the second innings against Australia.

By taking 9 wickets in the match, Jasprit Bumrah has become the highest wicket-taker in the World Test Championship 2023-25. He has achieved the number-1 crown by leaving Ravichandran Ashwin behind. Bumrah has taken a total of 66 wickets in WTC 2023-25. Whereas Ashwin had taken a total of 63 wickets in the World Test Championship 2023-25. Bumrah has gone ahead of Ashwin even before his retirement. Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc are at number three in the list. Both the bowlers have taken 62-62 wickets.

He has taken 145 wickets in his name in WTC. Ashwin was not able to perform well in the Test series against New Zealand held in India. After this he took part in the test match against Australia in Adelaide. Then from the third test he was shown the way out of the playing eleven. Ashwin is counted among the great bowlers of India and he has won many matches for Team India on his own. He has taken 537 test wickets.
