Asicon 2025: Session of HIV medical experts in Gujarat from 21, CM of Gujarat will inaugurate

The 16th National Session of HIV medical experts of the country (Asicon 2025) will be held in Ahmedabad from 21 to 23 February. For the first time in Gujarat, this event is being organized by the AIDS Society of India. It will be inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. A large number of HIV experts and researchers from different countries of the country and the world will participate in the three-day session.

The National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) and National TB Eradication Program run by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India in organizing Asicon 2025 session, Gujarat Medical Council, Infections Diges Society of Gujarat, United Nations Joint AIDS Program (UNAIDS), Institutes such as AIDS Research Institute of South Africa are among its colleagues. At the same time, the Indian Conference Promotion Bureau of the Ministry of Tourism Tourism and Union Tourism is also supporting it.

This session will also include HIV experts from many other countries along with India. Among them, countries like South Africa, England, Italy, Germany and Kenya are prominent.

There will be lectures and sessions on many subjects

During the three -day event, there will be medical lectures and sessions on HIV on many subjects. These include the latest data related to Asia Pacific sector and India’s HIV related data, HIV tests (especially HIV self-test or HIV self-test), antiretroviral drugs related to the latest papers, HIV prevention drugs, HIV and TB co-communication and HIV and Hepatitis The latest updates related to co-consolidation, human papilloma virus related cancer, artificial intelligence, cyber-system and healthcare, climate change include topics.

India’s progress towards AIDS control

According to the Government National AIDS control program, there has been commendable progress towards AIDS control in India. By 2023, the AIDS rate in India declined by about half (44.23%) as compared to 2010 data. This was more than a global decline in AIDS rate (39%) globally. Similarly, AIDS-related mortality also declined by 79.26% by 2023, compared to 2010 data, which is more than a decline in global AIDS mortality (51%) during 2010-2023. A deadline has been set by 2030 to eliminate AIDS from the country.

Dr. Dilip Pathi, National President of AIDS Society of India, said that it is necessary to ensure that the viral loads of all those who are getting HIV antiretroviral medicines, be negligible.

Asicon co -chairman Dr. Harsh Toshniwal said that Asicon 2025 is happening in Gujarat for the first time and will benefit from all medical communities, which will be helpful in progressing Gujarat towards eradication of AIDS.

At the same time, Dr. Ishwar Gilada, President of Emerity of AIDS Society of India, said that we have to work with efficiency, work and effectiveness for the prevention of AIDS.
