Violence took place on two sides at 8:30 pm on Monday night in the Mahal area of Nagpur, Maharashtra in the Aurangzeb tomb dispute. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad burnt the effigy of Aurangzeb, followed by violence.
Officials said- rumors spread that protesters have lit a religious book with effigies. This caused stone pelting on two sides. Many trains were vandalized. Two JCBs were set on fire.
The police have also released tear gas shells to stop the people who are causing uproar. DCP Niketan Kadam was attacked with an ax. Many people are injured in violence. The police have detained more than 55 people.
Section 163 of BNS (like Section 144 of IPC) of BNS has been implemented in the city. According to media reports, 20 teams of police have been formed to restore peace system.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has appealed to the people to fully cooperate with the administration. He said- We are constantly in touch with the police-administration. Nagpur is a peaceful city. Do not believe in any rumor.
Deputy CM Eknath Shinde said- Attack has been done with planning. Stones have been thrown at the police party. Those who do so will not be spared. Aurangzeb is the enemy of the country. Strict action will be taken against his supporters.
Nagpur DCP Archit Chandak said- This incident has happened due to misunderstanding. The situation is under control. There is an appeal to everyone not to get out. Do not stone pelting. Some police personnel have been injured. I also suffered a minor injury in my leg.
Here, security has been increased on the grave of Aurangzeb, a precautionary measure in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. The SP of the district said that a SRPF company and two platoon have been deployed.

VHP Bajrang Dal demanded the removal of Aurangzeb grave
The matter of removing the tomb of Aurangzeb located in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (first Aurangabad) in Maharashtra has started catching up. He said- What is the justification for government expenditure on the killing of Hindu kings, breaking temples and suppressing our culture? Not a single rupee of taxpayers should be spent on the maintenance of the dictator’s grave, which has given great pain to our ancestors. It should be stopped immediately.
Raut said- These memorials of bravery of Marathas Sanjay Raut, leader of Shiv Sena Uddhav faction, targeted BJP leaders over the tomb dispute. He said- Aurangzeb’s tomb is a memorial of the valor of the Marathas. This will tell the coming generation how Shivaji Maharaj and Maratha soldiers continue to fight with invaders.

Aurangzeb’s grave was built in 1707
Actually, the grave of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb is in Khuldabad, Maharashtra. According to historians, when Aurangzeb died in 1707, he was buried near the dargah of his spiritual guru Sheikh Zainuddin in Khuldabad. This place is about 25 km from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Aurangzeb’s tomb was made of an ordinary earthen, in which the British Viceroy Lord Curzon was later marked. This place is considered to be historical and religiously important, where people still reach to pay tribute.
