High court ordered in 2023

High Court Justice Vinod Bhardwaj had stayed the order of the holy area on April 17, 2023, as the petitioners argued that there is no mention of any statutory provision in the 2022 order prohibiting slaughter, sales and purchase of meat in the notified area, under which such announcement can be issued.

The petitioners, including local restaurant owners and shopkeepers, argued that in the absence of the use of any fundamental power, preventing the petitioners from doing their business is a violation of the rights given to them.

Licenses issued to shopkeepers

The petitioners said that they have been duly issued by the competent authority for the purchase and sale of meat and meat products in the area and they are trading according to the law.

Panchkula was demarcated the holy area to ban the purchase and sale of meat and meat products, including the commercial sector of Mansa Devi Complex (MDC).

Ban will continue in 2.5 km area

The sale of meat in an area of ​​2.5 km from Shri Mata Mansa Devi temple will now be completely banned. No kind of meat will be cut here. The boundary wall notification of Holi Complex has been issued by Panchkula Municipal Corporation. Under this, the area of ​​Shri Mata Mansa Devi Temple has been declared Holi Complex. Therefore, now meat and meat will not be sold and purchased inside it.

The boundary wall of Holi Complex is divided under Point A, B, C and D. In this, the boundary of Panchkula of Chandigarh IT Park has also been taken along with an area of ​​Modern Housing Complex Sector-4, 5 of Mansa Devi Complex Area of ​​Panchkula.

These are restricted areas

Point a– A point will be from Srimata Mansa Devi Temple to Leo with Cantonment Area in Urban South Boundaries. It will also completely cover MDC-5.

Point be-Point B area comes in the western boundary wall. It starts from the lion gate to Panchkula Light Point before Chandigarh area.

Point C-Point C comes in the north boundary wall. It comes from Chandigarh IT Park to Panchkula area starts dolphin chowk and Sector-4 MDC area. It also has a reserve forest area.

Point d-Point D comes under the pre -boundary wall. It is starting from MDC-4 and covering the area of ​​MDC-5 falling under Shri Mata Mansa Devi.
