Amidst this protest, Sheikh Hasina started giving online speech. Earlier on Wednesday, some protesters threatened that if the former Prime Minister continued his speech, they would blow the building with “bulldozers”. As Hasina started speaking, the protesters attacked the house and started breaking the brick walls, later brought a crane and an excavated machine to demolish the building. Hasina replied during her speech, “She does not have the power to destroy the independence of the country from bulldozers. They can destroy a building, but they will not be able to erase history. ” However, the building continued to fall. He called upon the people of Bangladesh to oppose the new leaders of the country and alleged that he had gained power in “unconstitutional” methods.

Slogans against India too

Student leader Hasanat Abdullah warned media outlets against Hasina’s speech and announced on Facebook that “tonight Bangladesh would be freed from the pilgrimage site of fascism.” Several protesters raised slogans demanding Hasina to be hanged for the death of hundreds of people during the rebellion against him last year. Hasina urged the United Nations to investigate the deaths. The protesters also raised slogans criticizing India. The interim government of Bangladesh, headed by Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus, has demanded extradition of Hasina, but India has not responded.
