The Greatest of All Time
Thalapathy Vijay starrer ‘The Greatest of All Time’ (The GOAT) was one of the highest-grossing South films of 2024. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film is based on the life of an agent who retires after the tragic death of his son in an accident. It had earned a whopping Rs 457 crore worldwide.
Pushpa 2
Allu Arjun and director Sukumar’s ‘Pushpa 2’ is making waves at the box office. The film has earned more than Rs 800 crore worldwide in just four days. It will easily cross the Rs 1,000 crore mark before completing its first week in theatres. The sequel is making waves especially in Hindi language.
Amaran
‘Amaran’, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, is based on the life story of Major Mukund Varadarajan. The film is based on his journey in the Indian Army and the sacrifices he made for his country. Not only this, the film directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy also shows his love story with his wife Indu Rebecca Varghese. ‘Amaran’ has earned Rs 217.6 crore in India in 34 days, while its worldwide earning is Rs 328.25 crore.

‘Maharaja’ starring Vijay Sethupathi and Anurag Kashyap is one of the best South films of 2024. Directed by Nithilan Saminathan, the film revolves around the life of a father working in a local salon. One day, some miscreants enter his house and turn his life upside down. This film has earned Rs 200 crores and is now doing great business in China.

‘Raayan’ proved to be a milestone in Dhanush’s career as it was his 50th film as an actor and second as a director. The film is the story of a brother who works day and night for his family. However, after being betrayed by his own brothers, he and his sister decide to take revenge on them. It has earned 156 crores.
Vettaiyaan
Rajinikanth starrer ‘Vettaiyan’ hit the big screens on the occasion of Dussehra. Directed by TJ Gyanvel, the film also featured Amitabh Bachchan and Fahadh Faasil in lead roles. The film received mixed responses from the audience, but still managed to gross over Rs 250 crore at the box office.
