In the first pre-quarterfinal match of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Bengal defeated Chandigarh by 3 runs. Chandigarh won the toss and decided to field. The team had reduced Bengal’s 8 wickets to 114 runs. But after this, Shami, who came to bat, scored unbeaten 32 runs on 17 balls, which ultimately proved to be a match-winning innings for the team.
