Bengaluru engineer suicide case, FIR against wife not dismissed: High Court asked – why don’t you want investigation, all details of instigation to suicide are present

Karnataka High Court on Monday rejected the petition of wife Nikita Singhania in the suicide case of AI engineer Atul Subhash in Bengaluru. Nikita’s lawyer had said that there is nothing in the complaint which suggests that Nikita was involved in instigating Atul to commit suicide.

On this argument of Nikita’s lawyer, Justice SR Khanna refused to quash the FIR. He said that in such a case the question of botched investigation does not arise. Why don’t you (Nikita) want investigation?

Actually, on December 9, 2024, Atul Subhash committed suicide in his flat in Bengaluru. Before suicide, Atul had made a video of 1 hour 20 minutes. In this viral video, Atul had made serious allegations against his wife Nikita. Atul had also left a suicide note.

Atul’s family had accused Nikita Singhania and his family of instigating Atul to commit suicide. FIR has been registered against Nikita, his mother, brother and uncle. On January 4 itself, Nikita, her mother and brother were granted bail. Uncle is already on bail.

On January 4, Atul’s wife Nikita (centre), mother-in-law Nisha and brother-in-law Anurag were granted bail.

Justice’s question- Look at the FIR and what information is needed Justice Khanna said, ‘You are saying that there is nothing in the complaint which suggests that there was instigation for suicide? Detailed information is given, everything is given. Look at the FIR, look at the complaint, what is there that is not there. All the information has been given for this case of abetment to suicide. More information is also coming to light. Apart from this, what other information should be given? What else should I see?’

Arrested on 14 December, got bail on 4 January Karnataka Police arrested Nikita Singhania from Gurugram on 14 December 2024, while his mother and brother Anurag were arrested from Prayagraj. All three are accused of instigating Atul Subhash to commit suicide.

Bengaluru Police had taken all three with them. After appearing in the court there, he was sent to police custody. On January 4, the City Civil Court of Bengaluru granted bail to all three. Nikita’s lawyer argued that Nikita should get bail to take care of Atul’s son, because the child is still small.

At the same time, the lawyer of Atul Subhash’s family had opposed the bail. He had said that it happened as we feared. Nikita is using the child as a tool for bail. Atul had also said the same thing before suicide that Nikita uses her son Vyom as a tool. The lawyer had said that Nikita and his family should not get bail.
