Sri Lankan Navy caught 10 fishermen from Tamil Nadu, boat also seized
The Sri Lankan Navy on Wednesday night caught 10 Tamil Nadu fishermen who were fishing in Sri Lankan waters and also confiscated their boat. The navy on Thursday said the boat was seized off the coast of Kovilan lighthouse in Karainagar, Jaffna, the first such seizure in 2025.
He said they conduct regular patrols and operations in Sri Lankan waters to prevent illegal fishing by foreign fishing boats, taking into account the impact of those practices on the livelihoods of local fishermen.

The Court emphasized that the right to travel is an aspect of the fundamental right given in the Constitution. The court directed the Pune Regional Passport Office to issue the passport to the girl within two weeks.
