JD-U withdraws support from BJP government of Manipur, says it will not affect NDA alliance

Cabinet approves continuation of National Health Mission for next five years; Jute MSP increased by 6% to Rs 5,650 per quintal

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the continuation of the National Health Mission for the next five years. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal gave information about the Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that this mission has accomplished historic targets in the last 10 years.

Goyal also informed that around 12 lakh health workers joined the National Health Mission (NHM) between 2021 and 2022 as India fought the COVID-19 pandemic under the mission.

Apart from this, in the cabinet meeting, the minimum support price (MSP) of raw jute for the financial year 2025-26 was approved at Rs 5,650 per quintal, which is 6% or Rs 315 more than the previous MSP. Piyush Goyal said that this will benefit the farmers of eastern and north-eastern states like West Bengal, Assam and Bihar.

CBI has recently given instructions to expeditiously dispose of pending cases and close files, so that the investigation process can be expedited.
