Rashtrapati Bhavan (Circuit-1) will remain closed for general public from January 21 to 29 due to the Republic Day Parade and Beating Retreat Ceremony. Circuit-1 takes visitors on a tour of the main building of Rashtrapati Bhavan, showing them the courtyard of the building, the main hall and the Long Drawing Room.
A statement issued from the President’s Office said that due to rehearsals for the Republic Day Parade, there will be no Change of Guard ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on January 11, 18 and 25. Chimney of Chhattisgarh’s Mungeli Steel Plant collapses; About 8 people buried, 4 feared dead
A major accident took place at Kusum Power Plant in Mungeli district of Chhattisgarh on Thursday. 7 to 8 people were buried due to chimney collapse in the plant located in Rambord village, out of which 4 people are reported to have died so far. The matter is of Sargaon police station area.

The couple attempted suicide outside the program of CM Nayab Saini at Hisar Agricultural University (HAU) in Haryana. He poured petrol on himself. However, people caught them before they could set them on fire. After which the police took him into custody and took him to the police station. Two militants arrested in Manipur’s Kakching; Suganu, Chairel and Kakching were extorting money in Khunou.
Security forces have arrested two members of banned militant outfit Kangleipak Communist Party (Taibanganba) on charges of extortion from Manipur’s Kakching district. Both were involved in extortion activities in Suganu, Chairel and Kakching Khunau areas of Kakching district. He was arrested on Wednesday.
Law related to appointment of election commissioners challenged in SC, hearing on February 4
The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the petitions challenging the constitutionality of the Chief Election Commissioner and Other Election Commissioners Act, 2023. This law, enacted in early 2024, removed the Chief Justice of India from the selection panel for the appointment of election commissioners. Hearing on this will be held on 4th February.
