A stampede broke out in the meeting of Maharaj Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra. He had reached the satsang program of Indian Oil Company near Mankoli block. He said that he himself will distribute Vibhuti to all the people. After this the crowd went out of control. The condition of some women trapped in the stampede deteriorated. However, no one was seriously injured. Dhirendra Shastri left the stage as soon as the stampede broke out.

Wife Nikita, mother-in-law and brother-in-law get bail from Bengaluru court in Atul Subhash suicide case.
Bengaluru’s AI engineer Atul Subhash, his wife Nikita Singhania, mother-in-law Nisha Singhania and brother-in-law Anurag Singhania were granted bail by the Bengaluru City Civil Court on Saturday in the suicide case. All three were arrested from Prayagraj and Gurugram.
On December 9, AI engineer Atul Subhash committed suicide by making a suicide note and video in his flat in Bengaluru. After this, Atul’s family accused his wife Nikita Singhania and her family of instigating Atul to commit suicide.

CISF jawan shoots himself in the stomach with service gun at Surat airport; death before treatment
A CISF jawan on duty at Surat International Airport committed suicide by shooting himself in the stomach with his service gun. According to reports, a soldier named Kishan Singh went to the airport bathroom at 2.10 pm and shot himself. From where he was taken to the hospital, but he died before treatment. The reasons for suicide could not be known.
Fire in huts in Mumbai’s Bandra area, 25 huts burnt

5.5 magnitude earthquake in Ethiopia, concern increased over volcanic eruption

Assam Police seized cough syrup made from codeine worth ₹ 2 crore, CM said, 183 Kg of heroin seized in 2024
Assam Police on Friday seized 11,100 bottles of cough syrup containing codeine worth Rs 2 crore from a vehicle in Cachar district.
Codeine is made from opium and morphine, hence people use cough syrup made from it for intoxication. Earlier, while talking to the media in Guwahati on Wednesday, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had told that in 2024, the police seized drugs worth Rs 682.44 crore and other drugs.
CM Sarma said, “In 2021, the police seized Rs 420.17 crore, in 2022 Rs 784.55 crore, in 2023 Rs 742.09 crore and last year i.e. in 2024, 183 Kg heroin worth Rs 682.44 crore.
Last year, the police had seized 22,776 Kg, 114 Kg of opium, 33.07 lakh intoxicating pills, 14 Kg of morphine and 2.30 lakh cough syrup bottles.
Faiz Ahmed Kidwai appointed Director General of Civil Aviation Directorate
Faiz Ahmed Kidwai was appointed Director General of Civil Aviation Directorate on Friday. He is a 1996 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre. Before this he was Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture. His appointment was made on the orders of the Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet.
At the same time, 1998 batch IAS Akash Tripathi of Madhya Pradesh cadre has been relieved from the Ministry of Electronics and IT and appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Energy.
