Uday Pratap Singh, Naiduniya Representative, Indore (Bhopal Gas Tragedy Waste). After the Bhopal gas tragedy, 337 tonnes of Union Carbide (Yua) kept there for years were transported to 12 containers at the Bhasmak plant complex in Pithampur at 4 am on January 2. Five container shell was taken out in 12 noon after 27 February (Thursday) after 56 days after reaching Yuka’s waste in Pithampur.

This waste closed in a high density polythene (HDEP) bag was placed in a mechanic cart (baked trolley) and kept in ancraneable storage shed. The process of consuming it in consumer will start on Friday morning. On Friday, 135 kg of waste per hour will be dumped in consumer. The process of destroying 10 tonnes of waste will be completed in 74 hours.

4.5 kg of garbage and so much lime will go every two minutes

First phase: Primary combustion room (Rotary Kill): Temperature 850-900 degrees

4.5 kg waste bag and 4.5 kg lime bag will be inserted every two minutes. The garbage placed in this chamber will rotate. This will be ensured that the garbage is completely burnt. The ash will come down after burning garbage. After burning the garbage, the gas will go to the next chamber.

Second phase: Second combustion room

With the help of diesel burner, the remaining flu gas will be burnt at 1100 degrees temperature. If the temperature is low in the primary and second combustion chamber, then its information is immediately reached the monitoring room and the process of inserting the plant and waste is stopped.

Third stage: Gas in spray dryer

Flu gas will be sent to spray dior. Here it will cool it from a water fountain and bring a temperature of gas up to 240 ° C. A quick decline in temperature is done due to this so that there is no harmful element in the gas again.

Fourth Phase: Multisiclone machine

The gas will be passed by a multiciclone machine. Heavy particles stored in it will be separated by rotating the gas here.

Fifth stages: dry scrubber

  • Central Pollution Control Board officials will be present.
  • National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (Neeri)
  • Vimta Institute, Hyderabad
