Bhupesh Baghel’s son Chaitanya refuses to receive the notice of ED, this charge on BJP after action

Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that his son Chaitanya Baghel has not received any notice to appear before the Enforcement Directorate. On Saturday, Baghel’s statement came amid reports that Baghel’s son Chaitanya Baghel has been called to appear before the central agency on March 15 to enter his statement. Earlier on March 10, the ED searched Bhupesh Baghel and his son’s locations in Chhattisgarh.

On Saturday, the media persons camped outside the ED’s office at Bhupesh Baghel’s residence in Bhupesh Baghel and Netaji Subhash Stadium in Netaji Subhash Stadium in Raipur, after the news of Chaitanya was interrogated on Saturday.

What did Bhupesh Baghel say on the notice of ED to son

Outside his house in Bhilai from Baghel, when reporters questioned his son’s appearance before the ED. On this, Baghel said that if the notice is not received, then there is no question of going (near the ED). He said that when the summons is served, it will be complied with.

Baghel said, “The job of ED is to spread sensation in the media .. The agency is being used to defame people. Till now they have been doing this. A CD case was going on against me for seven years. Recently, the court acquitted me with all the allegations. This is the BJP’s conspiracy to discredit a politician. ”

On March 10, the ED raided Bhupesh Baghel’s residence in Bhilai in Durg district under a money laundering investigation against his son in the alleged liquor scam case. Apart from this, 13 more bases, including Chaitanya’s alleged close associate Laxmi Narayan Bansal alias Pappu Bansal, were also searched under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

ED action at Bhupesh Baghel’s residence

This search lasted for about eight hours. During this time the ED seized about 30 lakh rupees in cash and some documents. After the raid, there were unconfirmed reports that Chaitanya was called by the ED on Saturday to record his statement. During the search, Bhupesh Baghel, who was present at his house, said that the action of the ED is the result of the frustration of the BJP.

The state’s main opposition party Congress had burnt effigies of BJP -led central government and ED on March 11 to protest this action. According to the ED, the alleged liquor scam in the state took place between 2019 and 2022, when the time was ruled by Baghel -led Congress in Chhattisgarh. ED had earlier said that the state treasury suffered heavy losses due to liquor scam in Chhattisgarh. Due to this, more than Rs 2,100 crore was lost in the pockets of the beneficiaries of liquor syndicate.
