Pakistan Terrorist Attack: A major terrorist attack has taken place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. 50 people have died in this attack. The death toll may increase
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhary said gunmen opened fire on passenger vehicles in a tribal area in northwestern Pakistan on Thursday. Chaudhary said that a woman and a child were also among those killed in this attack in Kurram tribal district. “This is a major tragedy and the death toll is likely to rise,” he said.
Tension between Shia and Sunni Muslims
There has been tension for decades between Shia and Sunni Muslims over a land dispute in the tribal area bordering Afghanistan. No group has taken responsibility for the incident. According to the information, “There were two convoys of passenger vehicles, one was carrying passengers from Peshawar to Parachinar and the other from Parachinar to Peshawar, when armed men opened fire on them.” Chaudhary said that his relatives were traveling from Peshawar in the convoy.

Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari strongly condemned the incident and expressed his condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased. The PPP, in a post on Twitter, said attacking innocent passengers was a cowardly and inhumane act. The party said that those responsible for this incident should be given strict punishment.
