The meeting of BJP core committee for Delhi elections has started. Home Minister Amit Shah has reached the house of National President JP Nadda for the meeting. According to media reports, the party may soon release a second list of about 30 candidates. In this, former MP Meenakshi Lekhi can also be made a candidate.
According to media reports, the party may change its candidate from Kalkaji. The party had given ticket to Ramesh Bidhuri against Chief Minister Atishi from here, but due to his controversial statements, the party may decide to change the candidate.
The first list came on 4 January BJP had released the first list of candidates on January 4. There were 29 names in the list. Of these, 7 leaders left AAP and Congress and joined BJP.
The party had again given tickets to most of the candidates who had got tickets in the last assembly elections in the first list. In the list of 29 candidates, 13 candidates were repeated, while the tickets of 16 were changed.
At the same time, the ticket of sitting MLA from Gandhinagar Anil Bajpai was canceled. In his place, former Congress state president Arvinder Singh Lovely, who joined BJP, has been given the ticket.
Pravesh Verma has been fielded against Arvind Kejriwal from New Delhi. Ramesh Bidhuri is contesting against CM Atishi from Kalkaji. Congress has given ticket to Alka Lamba on this seat.

Voting in Delhi on 5 February, results will come on 8 February The Election Commission announced Delhi Assembly elections on 7 February. Voting will be held on February 5 in a single phase on all 70 assembly seats. The results will come on 8 February. It will take about 35 days from the day of announcement of dates to complete the election process i.e. till 10th February.

Former CM’s competition with the sons of two former CMs BJP has fielded Pravesh Verma from New Delhi seat while Congress has fielded Sandeep Dixit against former CM Arvind Kejriwal. The first list of Congress was released on 12 December. There were 21 names in it. There were 26 names in the second list released on December 24. Congress has given ticket to Farhad Suri from Jangpura seat. AAP’s Manish Sisodia is contesting from here. Haji Mohammad Ishraq Khan was fielded against AAP’s Gopal Rai from Babarpur seat.
