BJP has made Ramesh Bidhuri its candidate from Kalkaji. Bidhuri is a former MP.
BJP candidate from Delhi Ramesh Bidhuri made objectionable comments on Priyanka Gandhi while addressing a public meeting. The video of the statement was shared by Congress leader Pawan Kheda on X.
Ramesh Bidhuri is seen saying in the video – Lalu had promised that he would make the roads of Bihar like the cheeks of Hema Malini, but he could not do so. I assure you, just as I have made the roads of Okhla and Sangam Vihar, similarly I will make all the roads in Kalkaji like the cheeks of Priyanka Gandhi.”
Pawan Kheda objected to this statement. He wrote on social media, “This misbehavior does not just reflect the mentality of this cheap man, it is the reality of its owners. From above, you will see the values of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in these lowly leaders of BJP.”
Ramesh Bidhuri will contest against Atishi from Kalkaji. BJP had released the first list of candidates for Delhi Assembly elections on Saturday. There are 29 names in the list. Of these, 7 leaders have recently left AAP and Congress and joined BJP.
Pravesh Verma will contest against Arvind Kejriwal from New Delhi. Ramesh Bidhuri has been fielded against CM Atishi from Kalkaji. Congress has given ticket to Alka Lamba on this seat.
The party has again given tickets to most of the candidates who got tickets in the last assembly elections in the first list. In the list of 29 candidates, 13 candidates have been repeated, while the tickets of 16 have been changed.
Bidhuri became famous for his controversial statement, had made objectionable comments on Danish in Parliament.

BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri remains in the news for his controversial statements. During the special session in Parliament on 21 September 2023, Bidhuri had made indecent remarks on BSP MP Danish Ali. Danish Ali had also complained about this by writing a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
BJP had condemned Ramesh Bidhuri’s statement and issued a show cause notice to the then MP Bidhuri. However, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey had accused Danish and said that the BSP MP had used abusive language against PM Modi. Countering this, Bidhuri replied to Danish in his own language.

Election dates in Delhi will be announced soon
The current tenure of Delhi Assembly ends on 23 February 2025. The Election Commission may announce the election dates in the second week of January. The last assembly elections were held in February 2020, in which the Aam Aadmi Party won an absolute majority and 62 out of 70 seats.
