BPSC candidates are on strike in Patna since 13th December. The main demand of the candidates is that the 70th preliminary examination should be cancelled. In view of the demonstration, heavy force was already deployed at the railway station. After 10 minutes, the police removed all the workers from the track and the train was dispatched. During this time some workers slept on the railway track. The police removed everyone.

After some time, Delhi bound Sampark Kranti Express also passed through there. The police stopped the workers and made the train depart. After half an hour Pappu Yadav reached Secretariat Halt railway station.

Activists again stopped a passenger train. The police have removed all the workers from the track. Everyone has been sent to the Gardnibagh protest site. The track has been completely evacuated.

Activists have also stopped a passenger train in Madhepura. Along with this, workers have blocked the National and State Highways in Purnia, Madhepura and Patna.

Here, Jansuraj Party founder Prashant Kishore has gone on a fast unto death.

Pappu Yadav’s announcement of Chakka Jam

Pappu Yadav has talked about stopping the National Highway, State Highway and trains passing through the state during the bandh. He said that ‘there will be a peaceful chakka jam to get justice for the students. Our aim is to convey our message to the government in a peaceful manner. Even after this, if the government does not pay attention to our demands, then the further decision will be taken by the students.

Student organizations of India Block will surround CM House

Here, CM House will be gheraoed by the student organizations of India Alliance (NSUI, AISA, AISF, RJD). Today i.e. on January 3, the demonstration of student organizations will start from 12 noon. The student organization has demanded cancellation of the exam, punishment of the culprits of lathi charge and compensation of Rs 5 crore to the deceased BPSC student Sonu.

Prashant Kishor on fast unto death at Gandhi Maidan

On the other hand, Jansuraj’s founder Prashant Kishore is sitting on a fast unto death under the Gandhi statue at Gandhi Maidan from 5 pm on Thursday. PK said that unless the exam is cancelled. Till then we will remain on hunger strike. Along with this, Purnia MP Pappu Yadav has called for Bihar bandh.

Things did not work out even after meeting CS

On December 30, 2024, a delegation of students met Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena. Five demands were put forward on their behalf. Prashant Kishor had announced on the same day that if these demands were not met by January 2, he would go on a fast unto death.

BPSC candidates are protesting from 13th December

The exam was held on 13 December. The candidates had alleged irregularities in the examination and said that the paper of the examination held at Bapu Center was leaked during the day itself. The Commission had also accepted the irregularities and had asked for re-examination. On the same day, a candidate who was protesting was slapped by Patna Collector Dr Chandrashekhar Singh.

Getting support from opposition parties

Opposition parties are getting support in favor of BPSC candidates. Apart from Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav, MP Pappu Yadav and Prashant Kishore reached the protest site and attacked the Bihar government. Student Parliament was held at Gandhi Maidan on Sunday, 29 December 2024. Candidates moving towards CM residence were lathicharged for the third time.

In Patna, on 29 December 2024, the candidates were chased and beaten by the police.

An FIR has been registered against 21 named and 600 unidentified people including Prashant Kishor, his party Jan Suraj President Manoj Bharti, former IPS officer Anand Mishra, coaching director Rahmanshu Mishra regarding the protest on Sunday.
