BPSC Protest: Founder of Jan Suraj and famous political strategist Prashant Kishore has taken a tough stand regarding the alleged irregularities in the 70th preliminary examination of BPSC. He has started a fast unto death demanding cancellation of the examination. Prashant Kishore says that there have been serious irregularities in this examination, which is injustice to the qualified and hardworking candidates. He has demanded a high-level inquiry into this and has said that strict action will be taken against the guilty officers. Through his fast, Prashant Kishore has not only stressed the need for reform in the examination system but has also raised the demand for administrative transparency. He believes that unless the education and administrative process is fair and transparent, equality and justice will not be established in the society. However, after his step the administration has adopted a strict stance. DM of Patna has declared their protest illegal and has ordered to end it with immediate effect. Besides, instructions have also been given to register a case against Prashant Kishore and his associates. The DM has said that any illegal activity will not be tolerated and maintaining law and order is his priority. This incident has created a stir in political and social circles in the state. While on one hand Prashant Kishore’s supporters are calling his step bold and necessary, on the other hand questions are being raised on this action of the administration. This issue has once again sparked a debate on Bihar’s examination system and administrative transparency.
