BPSC Protest: A heated clash was witnessed between the police and students during the 70th re-exam of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) in Patna. The students’ demonstration suddenly took a violent turn, due to which the police had to take strict action to control the crowd. This situation arose when students came to protest against alleged irregularities in the examination and other issues. On the very first day of the examination, many students alleged that there were not adequate arrangements at the examination centers and there was a lack of transparency in the examination process. Due to these allegations, students came out on the streets and started protesting. They say that their studies and career are being affected due to repeated cancellation and re-conduct of examinations. The protesting students blocked many important places in Patna, due to which the traffic was affected. Seeing the situation going out of control, the police tried to disperse the protesters. Meanwhile, a clash broke out between the students and the police. The police used mild force to disperse the protesters, which made the atmosphere more tense. The anger of the students is increasing and they have made serious allegations of irregularities on BPSC. On the other hand, the police has made it clear that maintaining peace and order is their priority. The administration says that the complaints of the students will be investigated, but disturbance of law and order will not be allowed. Repeatedly emerging controversies in BPSC examinations is a matter of serious concern. Along with providing justice to the students, the administration should ensure transparency in the examination process, so that such situations can be avoided in future.
