Patna:
Amidst the demand for cancellation of BPSC examination in Bihar, re-examination of BPSC was conducted at 22 examination centers in Patna on Saturday. Despite the protest, candidates reached the exam center to take the exam and students took the exam amidst tight security. Seven thousand out of 12 thousand candidates had downloaded their admit card for the re-exam.
The students who came out of the examination center after giving re-exam spoke to NDTV. Balram, a candidate from Motihari, said that the exam was good. The questions were on the same lines as the previous pattern. BPSC has made improvements in the question paper. This time BPSC has rectified the shortcomings.
A student from Bhagalpur said that the pattern of the exam was fine. On December 13, students created a ruckus. All this controversy happened because of some students. We are in support of the demonstration.

What did the administration say?
The administration feared that the five thousand candidates who have not downloaded the admit card may oppose the re-examination at the examination centres. In view of this, prohibitory orders were imposed around the centres. The district administration had deployed 65 magistrates at the examination centres, out of which 14 magistrates were deployed in the district control room. Apart from this, to ensure that the examination can be peaceful, a patrol magistrate was also appointed.
Why are students protesting against BPSC?
Alleging that the question paper of a joint competitive examination conducted by BPSC on December 13 was leaked, hundreds of candidates had boycotted the examination conducted at Bapu Examination Center in Patna. On this, the Commission had ordered re-examination for more than 10,000 candidates, who have been asked to appear in the examination to be conducted afresh on January 4 at various centers in the city.
However, the Commission also believes that the examination was conducted properly at the remaining 911 centers in Bihar and no complaints were made from more than five lakh candidates who appeared for this examination. But a section of candidates started an agitation demanding re-examination be ordered for all centers to ensure ‘level playing field’.
The protesters also claimed that they had provided ‘evidence’ to the authorities that the malpractice was widespread and was not limited to Bapu examination centre. BPSC has rejected his claim.
