The state government has once again taken bulldozer action in Devbhoomi Dwarka and Bet Dwarka of Gujarat. Hundreds of acres of government land in the coastal areas have been encroached upon and houses and other religious and commercial structures have been built from one end to the other. Now these structures have been removed. This action is being taken amidst tight police security.
Official information is awaited from the state government, but initial reports have revealed that around 40 to 50 illegal residential and commercial structures have been demolished in the demolition drive. Gujarat’s Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi has given information about this campaign on social media site X (formerly Twitter).
Mega Demolition in Bat Dwarka
In 2022, the Gujarat government had started a campaign to open government land by moving bulldozers on the coastal areas from Dwarka itself, now the bulldozers have again reached Dwarka.

Harsh Sanghvi wrote in his post, “Bet Dwarka is the land of faith of crores of people across the country. Krishna will not allow any illegal encroachment in the land. It is our responsibility to protect our faith and culture. The Bhupendrabhai Patel government in Gujarat has shown zero tolerance towards illegal encroachment.”

After this action the number of devotees in Bet Dwarka entry ban Has been installed. Barricades have been put up and a large number of police forces have also been deployed for tight security. However, care has also been taken that there is no disorder in the temple. However, the worship of God will continue regularly.
A total of one thousand soldiers including senior officers and policemen are involved during the operation. High-ranking officials of the administration and police department had already made all the preparations for this. During the operation, surveillance is being done through drone cameras. It is not yet known how much time this process will take, but considering the number of construction works, it may take some time.
It is noteworthy that Bet Dwarka is the westernmost tip of India. On this small island, 2 kilometers away from Devbhoomi Dwarka, there is a temple of Lord Krishna, which is the main center of faith of Hindus. Every year lakhs of people come here to see Lord Krishna. Earlier one could reach here only by sea, but now a bridge has been built here.
Demolition work started from Dwarka itself
Gujarat’s coastline is approximately 1600 kilometers long. It has many benefits, but at the same time it is also a sensitive area from security point of view. After Bhupendra Patel’s government came to power in Gujarat, attention was paid to strengthening the security in the coastal areas and along with this, the encroachment on government land in these areas over the years was also identified.
In the year 2022, the removal of these encroachments started from Dwarka itself and bulldozers were used on hundreds of acres of government land and structures were demolished. This action was probably the biggest demolition action in the history of Gujarat. Even after that the government continued this action in coastal areas like Somnath, Porbandar etc. Recently such action was taken on a large scale in Somnath also.
Now the bulldozer has reached Dwarka again. According to reports, after the demolition in 2022, the administration received information about further encroachment in Bet Dwarka area. After that the encroachers were identified. Government sources are saying that wherever there is encroachment, such bulldozer action will be taken.
