Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah Fitness: Indian team’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah had performed brilliantly against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Then the Indian bowler who took the highest wicket in the series was 32 wickets. But in the last Test match held in Sydney, he felt stiffness in his back, due to which he went out of the field and did not come to bowl in the second innings. Bumrah is not completely fit right now, that is why he has not been selected in the three-match ODI series against England. While he is included in the Indian team’s squad for Champions Trophy 2025. Now the report of ESPNcricinfo has revealed that Bumrah will test his match fitness by playing the third ODI against England. The team management is also hopeful that their plan can be successful.
Bumrah will miss some matches of England series: Agarkar
Indian team chief selector Ajit Agarkar said that we are currently waiting to hear about Bumrah’s fitness. They are less likely to be available. I think he will not be fit for the first few matches of the England series. At least as far as we know. We’ll probably know more about his fitness in the next week or so.
Ajit Agarkar said that the BCCI has allowed Jasprit Bumrah to rest for at least five weeks (the Sydney Test ended on January 5). After this, is he ready to bowl again? They will be scanned. We will find out what his condition is at that time. I am sure only the BCCI physio can tell something.
Bumrah can play in the third ODI
The deadline to give five weeks rest to Jasprit Bumrah will end on January 10. Whereas the third ODI match between England and India will be played on 12 February. In such a situation, Bumrah can play in the third ODI match against England and check his fitness. But no statement has been issued by BCCI on this yet. Currently, Harshit Rana has got a chance for the England series in place of Bumrah, who was also a part of the team in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Has taken 149 ODI wickets for India
The team management and Indian fans want Jasprit Bumrah to be completely fit to play the Champions Trophy 2025, because the Indian fast bowling depends largely on him. He is such a player who can change the course of the match in just a few balls. So far, he has taken 149 wickets in 89 ODI matches for Team India.
The Indian team played only three ODI matches against Sri Lanka in the year 2024, out of which it had to face defeat in two. Now Team India will play matches against England on 6, 9 and 12 February. After this, on February 20, the Indian team will start its Champions Trophy campaign against Bangladesh.
