The preparations of the National Cadet Corps to participate in the Republic Day Parade are very good and they are in full enthusiasm. NCC DG Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh said in a special conversation with NDTV that NCC cadets have been preparing for this for the last five months. He said that our motto is to prepare responsible youth for the country. He also said that the enthusiasm of NCC cadets will remain completely high on the path of duty and this time the cadets will also participate in the Army Day Parade.

- About 17 lakh NCC cadets across the country
- 40 percent number of girls cadets in NCC
- 2300 cadets participated in Republic Day camp
- Of these, about 900 girls cadets are also included.

Keep the body healthy: NCC DG
NCC DG Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh said that I just tell the cadets that if you keep your body healthy and keep moving, the heat will go away automatically. He said that cadets do not feel cold at all. They wake up at 2-3 in the night and start preparing.
He said that 2300 cadets from different states and union territories have participated in the camp to prepare for Republic Day. Two contingents of NCC take part in the parade on the duty path, one contingent of boys and the other of girls. There is also a band along with it.
Selection is done at 5 to 6 level: NCC DG
DG of NCC said that cadets reach here after selection at five to six levels. It is a matter of pride to participate in the Republic Day parade or camp.
He told that out of 17 lakh cadets, 2300 come here. There is a very tough competition, the cadets who come here to attend the camp, leave here as something different.
Such training is given to NCC cadets
Singh said that the gadgets of junior division are given training for 240 periods in a year. Whereas the senior division is given 300 periods of training in 3 years. During this time we teach them about things like firing, life skills and leadership. Army cadets are given training related to Army, Navy cadets are given training related to Navy and Air Force. He told that this time we have focused a lot on adventure training.
Junior division gets A certificate and senior division gets B and C certificate, which benefits them while serving in army or paramilitary forces. Nowadays it has great importance in the corporate sector also.
Now there is presence in every district: NCC DG
DG of NCC said that our motto is to prepare responsible youth for the country. We have a directorate within the state. There is also a unit, which is the face of NCC.
He said, “If we see today, the Naval Chief, Army Chief have been NCC cadets. The Prime Minister, Defense Minister and Minister of State for Defense have also been NCC cadets. NCC cadets are doing well in every field. Education among the cadets. And patriotism is very good.”
He said that the government spends money for the training of cadets and now the dress allowance is also going into the cadets’ account. Today NCC is present in every district and is more concentrated in rural areas. Wherever there is an institute, there is NCC. More battalions are being prepared in Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh.
Mount Everest target in 2025: NCC DG
Also told that our biggest issue is to contribute to social campaigns. Participate actively in such government schemes. Wherever disaster occurs in the country, cadets participate enthusiastically. Recalling the Wayanad accident, he said that the cadets had helped people there too. Cadets are also engaged in helping people in Kumbh.
He informed that every year we train more than 500 cadets in the mountains. 14 to 15 thousand cadets do tracking. Our target is Mount Everest in 2025. For this, cadets are being trained in Siachen Battle School.
