Chhattisgarh: Encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Sukma, 10 Naxalites killed, cache of weapons recovered

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai’s office wrote on social media platform Chhattisgarh is working on the policy of zero tolerance towards Naxalism, ensuring development, peace and security of citizens is the top priority of the government.

While talking to IANS, Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao said that after the formation of our government, our security forces are continuously working bravely to free Bastar from Naxalite. I congratulate the security forces and best wishes for this success. Our soldiers are going to such an area where they cannot imagine going. I salute the bravery of the security forces. The double engine government is working bravely and efficiently to fulfill the wishes and aspirations of the people of Bastar and is continuously getting success. I congratulate and best wishes to the security forces for this success.

Bastar Inspector General P Sundarraj confirmed that the search operation is still going on in the area and 10 bodies have been recovered.

At least 257 Naxalites have been killed since January this year, while 861 have been arrested and 789 have surrendered.
