‘Mirzapur’ character most important in my career: Abhishek Banerjee
Actor Abhishek Banerjee, who has made a special place in the hearts of people with his work in films like Stree, Bhediya and Stree 2, is close to the heart of the character he played in Mirzapur. According to him, the character of ‘Compounder’ gave a new turn to his career. Banerjee is all set to make a comeback as a compounder in the upcoming ‘Mirzapur-The Movie’. Talking about this, the actor said, “I am very excited to bring the compounder back among the people in Mirzapur The Movie. This character has been a milestone in my career and is also close to my heart. Playing the role of a compounder was a special and profound experience for me. Once again I have got a chance to play this character and I feel honored.
Banerjee said, “There is a lot of depth in the character of the compounder. I know that fans are yearning to see this character of mine. Bringing this character back will not only be thrilling for me as an actor, but it is also a gift for the fans to crave. After all, Mirzapur has created its own fan base, so playing the compounder again is a special experience for me.” Banerjee’s portrayal of the compounder in season 1 of “Mirzapur” is one of the most popular in the series. He emerged as one of the popular characters. Banerjee has left a deep impression on the audience through this character. The first season of “Mirzapur” was released in November 2018 and the second season in October 2020. The third season was released in July 2024. In October 2024, the makers announced the Mirzapur film with a video starring Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Abhishek Banerjee and Divyendu. The film ‘Mirzapur’ produced by Puneet Krishna and directed by Gurmeet Singh will be released in 2026. It will see the return of Pankaj Tripathi (Kaalin Bhaiya), Ali Fazal (Guddu Pandit) and Divyendu (Munna), and Banerjee will be seen reprising the role of the compounder played in the series.
