Actually, in 1969, a fierce fire broke out in the Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) Ranchi. After this, the Central Industrial Security Force was established in 1969. The CISF command is directly commanded by the Ministry of Home Affairs of India.
What does CISF do?
CISF provides protection to the employees of the campus as well as the security of property and establishments. CISF is fully trained in dealing with industrial security and disaster. These are particularly proficient in dealing with the fire in industrial complexes. This is an industrial force that has a customized and dedicated fire wing. On the orders of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the CISF provides security to persons determined for the safety of Z Plus, Z, X, Y. Apart from this, CISF provides protection to government buildings, industrial units, airports, metro, ports, monuments and private sector establishments and individuals.

CISF also has several internal teams. It has a quick reaction team (QRT), which is known for quick response and anti -terrorism operations. Apart from this, the Special Weapon and Tactics (SWAT) team is known for high-level security works. CISF’s fire service units are meant to provide fire service at industrial sites. CISF also has a dog squad, which is used to detect explosives and other suspicious items. CISF Motor Transport Unit provides logistics and transportation services during security campaigns. At the same time, intelligence and surveillance units work to gather and monitor intelligence at important places.
