New Delhi:

A survey of Jama Masjid was conducted on Tuesday on the orders of a court in Sambhal district in Uttar Pradesh. On the orders of the court, the survey work was done at night only. The court had asked to conduct a survey and file a report within 7 days, after which the survey was conducted immediately. During this, Samajwadi Party MPs and people of the Mosque Committee were also present. Advocate Commissioner completed the survey work. In fact, the Hindu side claims that the mosque is built on top of the Harihar temple. On hearing the news of the survey, thousands of people of Muslim community gathered outside the mosque in the night itself.

Claim of having a temple instead of a mosque

DM and SP of Sambhal were also present during the survey. Samajwadi Party MP from Sambhal, Zia ur Rehman Burke claims that nothing was found in the survey. This is a mosque and will remain a mosque. The survey of Sambhal Masjid is being considered a big victory for the Hindu side. Hindu parties had claimed to have a temple in place of the royal Jama Masjid of Sambhal. A petition has been filed in the court regarding this. The claim that there was Shri Hari Har Mandir in place of Jama Masjid in the district was presented in the district court.

Both parties were present during the survey

District Magistrate Rajendra Pensia said that as per the order the ‘Advocate Commissioner’ had conducted the survey. During this time both the parties were present. “We were just providing security,” he said. The Advocate Commissioner has conducted the survey and will file his report in the court. At present the survey process has been completed. If necessary the court will decide. SP MP Zia ur Rehman Burke said, ‘Sambhal’s Jama Masjid is historical and very old. In 1991, the Supreme Court had ordered that whatever religious places were in the same condition since 1947, they would remain at their places. Even after that, some people want to spoil the atmosphere of the country and the state, we are against them.

These orders given by the court

Petitioner advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain said that the court of Civil Judge (Senior Division) gave instructions to constitute ‘Advocate Commission’ for the survey of Jama Masjid. The court has said that a videography and photography survey should be conducted through the commission and the report should be filed in the court. He said, “Harihar temple in Sambhal is the center of our faith. According to our religious beliefs, Kalki incarnation among Dashavatar is to take place from here. In the year 1529, Babar tried to demolish the temple and convert it into a mosque. This is a protected area by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). There cannot be any kind of encroachment in it.

Jain said, “There are many marks and signs there which are of Hindu temples.” Keeping all these things in mind, the court has issued this order. He said that ASI, Uttar Pradesh Government, Jama Masjid Committee and Sambhal District Magistrate have been made parties in this case. Jain later posted on Babar partially demolished this place in 1529. It is believed that Kalki’s incarnation is to take place in Sambhal.
