CLAT: The Supreme Court on Thursday ordered the transfer of all petitions challenging the result of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 to the Delhi High Court. A bench of Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna, Justice Sanjay Kumar and Justice KV Vishwanathan also directed that the Delhi High Court will hear these cases on March 3. Last month, on 15 January, the Supreme Court indicated that it could consider transferring these petitions to the same High Court.
When was the exam done?
CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) 2024 Exam was held on 1 December, which is an important examination for admission to Graduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) Act syllabus in various prestigious Law Universities in India. Through this examination, candidates get admission in Indian law schools. However, many controversies took birth after this examination. Several petitions were filed in various high courts, claiming that some questions were wrong or unclear in the graduate (UG) syllabus examination, causing inconvenience to the students participating in the examination. Some such questions were mentioned in these petitions, which were clearly wrong or who were not answered correctly, which affected the examination results of the students. Apart from this, some petitions also said that the CLAT results announced for admission to PG syllabus also had some flaws, which were dissatisfied the candidates. Due to these disputes, this matter reached the Supreme Court, and efforts are being made to take appropriate action to resolve it. Many aspects were challenged in these petitions, such as the validity of the exam questions, the correctness of the answer key and the need to improve the results. The hearing of these cases is still going on, and the problems related to them will soon be resolved by the court concerned.
