CM Nitish reviewed development works in Gopalganj under ‘Pragati Yatra’, gave many instructions

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar reviewed the ongoing development schemes under the second phase of Pragati Yatra in Gopalganj district. In this meeting held in the meeting room of Gopalganj Collectorate, District Magistrate Prashant Kumar C.H. Gave a detailed report on the progress of various development works in the district.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister was informed about Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme, Chief Minister Nishchay Self-Help Allowance Scheme, Skilled Youth Programme, tap water in every house, paved streets and drains, Chief Minister Rural Solar Street Light Scheme, irrigation water to every field, construction of agricultural feeder, Information was given about the progress made under the Chief Minister Agricultural Electricity Connection Scheme, encouragement to women in higher education, and other schemes. Along with this, the status of Panchayat Government Building, tele-medicine in health sub-centres, veterinary services, sports clubs for sports, and various road and bridge construction schemes were also discussed.

The Chief Minister directed the officials that the problems raised by the public representatives should be resolved immediately. Regarding the development of Bihar, he said that the situation in Bihar has improved significantly since 2005. Earlier people in Bihar were afraid to go out, whereas now there is a new wave of development in the state. The Chief Minister said that there has been major improvement in the field of roads, hospitals, and education in the state, and now people in Bihar are getting better health services and education.

The Chief Minister informed about various schemes of his government such as Dress Scheme, Cycle Scheme, reinstatement of government teachers, increased crowding in primary health centres, and increase in the number of government medical colleges. He also said that 50 percent reservation has been given to women in Panchayats and municipal bodies, due to which the participation of women has increased. Apart from this, the efforts for employment generation of women under Jeevika Didi were also appreciated.

Highlighting the efforts for employment and government jobs, the Chief Minister also said that till 2020, the state government had given government jobs to 8 lakh people and work is going on towards achieving the target of 12 lakh. Also, a target has been set to provide employment to 34 lakh people.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister made many important announcements for the development of Gopalganj district. These include an increase of Rs 20 per quintal for sugarcane farmers, construction of Mirganj Bazar bypass, construction of Gopalganj bypass, and a plan for construction of bypass road in Kateya Industrial Area. Apart from this, bridge construction in Uchkagaon block, beautification of Ma Thawe temple, and other infrastructure projects were also announced.

The Chief Minister also visited various places in Gopalganj and learned from the people there about their problems. He instructed the officials that all the problems should be resolved. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Education Minister Sunil Kumar, and many other public representatives and officials were present in the meeting.
