Congress party will run ‘Jai Bapu-Jai Bhim-Jai Constitution’ campaign across the country against the statement given by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the House on Dr. Ambedkar. On Saturday, at the Congress headquarters in New Delhi, Pawan Kheda, Chairman of the Party’s Media and Publicity Department, said that under this campaign, Chaupal will be set up in every district. He also released a pamphlet of this nationwide campaign.
Pawan Kheda said that Home Minister Amit Shah had made objectionable remarks on Baba Saheb Ambedkar in Parliament. It was expected that the Home Minister would apologize and Prime Minister Narendra Modi would intervene in the matter. But the Prime Minister supported the Home Minister and became a partner in insulting Ambedkar. This issue was raised in the Congress Working Committee meeting held in Belagavi, Karnataka last month and it was decided that ‘Jai Bapu-Jai Bhim-Jai Constitution’ campaign would be started in the entire country.
Khera said that in the chaupals organized under this campaign, it will be told that BJP-RSS have been insulting Ambedkar and demeaning the Constitution for decades. Citizens are having to bear the brunt of this. The rights of 90 percent of the people of the country are being violated. The reserved category is being hurt through lateral entry and privatization.
He said that there are more than ten lakh vacant posts, that too is a direct attack on the reserved category. Many such attacks are being carried out by the BJP government. This pamphlet will be distributed in these chaupals and the countrymen will be told in a factual manner with historical background how BJP-RSS are conspiring against 90 percent of the population.
Kheda told that on January 26, a huge public meeting will be organized in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, the birthplace of Babasaheb Ambedkar. Kheda reiterated that what Home Minister Shah said in Parliament is in the deep mentality of RSS and its political wing BJP. On November 30, 1949, in its mouthpiece Organiser, the RSS had described the Constitution as un-Indian. When Ambedkar talked about equal rights for women, the RSS burnt his effigy in Ramlila Maidan. Today, not only Baba Saheb Ambedkar but also Gandhi’s legacy is being attacked.
Kheda further said that BJP is opposed to constitutional and democratic institutions. In the last ten years, the BJP government has continuously attacked the Constitution. BJP not only openly does injustice to Dalits and tribals in the country, but also weakens their laws. BJP was confident that it would change the Constitution by crossing 400 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, but it could not happen.
If this had happened, it would not only have changed the Constitution, but Mahatma Gandhi’s picture would also have disappeared from the notes. The ruling party of his country is gradually conspiring to remove Mahatma Gandhi, whom the whole world considers an ideal. The Congress party, which follows the path of Baba Saheb Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi, will not tolerate his insult. Therefore, it is our responsibility to not only remind the new generation about his legacy by launching a nationwide campaign, but also to fight non-violently to preserve it. The country will run only on the basis of the Constitution. BJP cannot roam around with the Constitution in its mouth and Manusmriti beside it.
