He appealed to the people of Sambhal to recognize the politics of hatred, maintain mutual unity and harmony and take steps to protect their rights through legal means.
There was a ruckus in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday morning after a court-ordered survey of Shahi Jama Masjid. Within no time there was a clash between the protesters and the police. During this, the angry mob set fire to many vehicles and there was heavy stone pelting on both sides. Three people died and more than 20 were injured in firing during the violence. Police have arrested more than 24 people in the case. Internet service has been banned in the district.
