The issue of survey of Jama Masjid in Sambhal, UP is gaining momentum. After the survey of the mosque, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind and AIMIM have given a strong reaction. Owaisi has said that the way the court has shown speed in this case, the Places of Worship Act will remain a dead letter. Owaisi has written that the court should nip such cases in the bud. Jamiat has also expressed concern over the survey.

What did Jamiat say?

On this whole issue, Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind President Maulana Mahmood Asad Madani said that by mixing the lies and truth of history, communal elements have become the enemies of the peace and order of the country and by uprooting old dead bodies in this way, the country’s secularism will be destroyed. The foundations are shaking. At the same time, efforts to retell historical contexts are in no way conducive to national integrity.

What did Owaisi say?

AIMIM party chief Asaduddin Owaisi said the Babri Masjid verdict has emboldened Hindu organizations to target Muslim places of worship across India. See the case of Shahi Jama Masjid at Chandausi in Sambhal, UP, within three hours of the application being submitted, the civil judge ordered a preliminary survey at the mosque site to find out whether any temple had to be demolished to build the mosque. Had gone. The application was made by a lawyer who is the standing counsel for the UP government in the Supreme Court. The survey was conducted on the same day. In this way, within an hour of the court’s order, the lock of Babri was also opened, without listening to the other side. This “speed” is not shown in normal cases. If the courts continue to follow such orders, the Places of Worship Act will remain a mere dead letter. The purpose of this Act was to prevent such cases from reaching the courts. A mosque which has been in use for hundreds of years is being made the subject of a communal lawsuit. The courts should nip this in the bud.

What is the whole case?

The Hindu side has claimed Jama Masjid to be Sri Harihar Temple. The Hindu side had reached the court regarding this matter. The court ordered a survey of the entire complex. The court has sought its report by November 29. Late on Tuesday evening, the team conducted a survey inside the mosque in the presence of police and administrative officials. Videography and photography of the entire complex was done. During this time the situation appeared quite tense. As soon as information about the survey came, anger spread among the Muslim side. People gathered around the mosque and on the rooftops. The administration removed the plaintiff Mahant Rishiraj from near the mosque. During this period the entire area remained clean.

What is the Jama Masjid controversy?

Mahant Rishiraj Giri claims that in 1529, Mughal emperor Babar had demolished the Harihar temple and built Jama Masjid. Therefore, now Hindus should be allowed to worship in the mosque campus. The Hindu side believes that the tenth incarnation of God, Lord Kalki, is to take place at this place.
