Former Indian all-rounder Sanjay Bangar’s son Aryan (now Anaya) shared his experience of gender change (hormonal transformation) on Monday. Aryan had undergone Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) 11 months ago.
23-year-old Aryan posted a video on the social media platform on Monday and wrote – ‘I am losing strength, but gaining happiness. The body is changing, the dysphoria is reducing… there is still a long way to go, but every step feels like mine.
Aryan (Anaya) is also a cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman who plays cricket for a local cricket club, Islam Gymkhana. He has also scored a lot of runs for Hinckley Cricket Club in Leicestershire.

Career ended due to ECB rules
On October 20, the English and Wales Cricket Board banned transgender women from women’s professional cricket. Due to this, Aryan (Anaya) will no longer be able to participate in women’s cricket.

My body has changed a lot after undergoing hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and becoming a trans woman. I am losing my muscle mass, strength, muscle memory, and athletic abilities that I once depended on. The game I loved for so long is slipping away from me.

What is Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)
In this process, the gender of a man or woman is changed by changing their hormones. In this, the help of plastic surgery is also taken. It was recognized in India in 2014.
At least four doctors, psychiatrist, surgeon, gynecologist and a neuro surgeon are involved in the entire process of gender change surgery. Doctors say that this surgery is done only on people above 21 years of age. In children younger than this, the operation is performed only after taking written consent from the parents.
