On the accident at New Delhi railway station, DCP Railway KPS Malhotra said that we had guessed the crowd, but this incident happened in a very short time. The incident took place at around 9.55 pm at the New Delhi railway station, soon after which rescue and relief work was started. Eyewitnesses of the accident said that due to the huge crowd at the New Delhi railway station, many passengers fainted due to suffocation. Some people fell after a stampede -like situation with the steps of platform number 14 and people left them. A passenger Dharmendra Singh said, ‘I was going to Prayagraj but many trains were running late or canceled. There was a lot of crowd at the station. I saw such a crowd for the first time at this station. Six-seven women were taken to stretcher in front of me.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Railways) said in an official statement that when the Prayagraj Express train was standing on platform number 14, many people were present there. The official said that the freedom fighter Express and Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express were running late and passengers of these trains were also present at platform numbers 12, 13 and 14. He said, ‘1,500 normal tickets were being sold by the Railways every hour, due to which the crowd increased at the station and the situation became uncontrollable. PM Modi and CM Yogi expressed grief
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences to the people who lost their lives in a stampede -like situation at New Delhi railway station on Saturday night and said that the authorities are busy in assisting all the people affected by it. Prime Minister Modi said in a post on ‘X’, ‘I am distressed by the stampede (like the situation) at New Delhi railway station. My condolences are with all those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured people recover quickly. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath tweeted, ‘Life in the accident at New Delhi railway station is extremely tragic and heartbreaking. My condolences are with bereaved families. I pray to Lord Shri Rama to grant salvation to the departed souls, give this immense sorrow to the bereaved families and wish the injured to get well soon.
Acting Chief Minister Atishi reached the hospital …
Acting Chief Minister of Delhi and AAP leader Atishi said that the tragic death of devotees going to Mahakumbh in the accident at New Delhi railway station is extremely tragic and heartbreaking. LNJP met the families of the victims at the hospital. Many people are also injured, who are undergoing treatment. Two of our MLAs are present in the hospital to help the victim families.
