Kirti Azad vs Rohan Jaitley: Kirti Azad, the candidate standing for the post of President of DDCA (Delhi and District Cricket Association), has expressed his commitment to ethical governance. Along with this, while throwing light on the misconduct happening in DDCA by the current officials, Kirti Azad and his team raised questions on ‘wrong management of funds’ and asked tough questions to Rohan Jaitley and his team. Let us tell you, DDCA elections are to be held from 13 to 15 December. The results will be declared on 16 December. The current incumbents led by Jaitley are expected to remain in power but Azad sees a wave of change. A total of 3748 members are expected to vote in the elections.
Kirti Azad made many allegations
In these elections, with his slogan ‘If it does not change now, it will never change’, Kirti Azad wants to bring changes in the functioning of DDCA with immediate effect. Their aim is to bring a ‘respectable’ change in the image of Indian cricket and players. And to create a sense of pride among the members of the association about the facilities provided to them.
Addressing the media, Kirti Azad said, DDCA members have been deprived of due status for a long time. The grant received by the association has been mismanaged. Accounts are not being properly audited and members of the association have been deprived of the facilities they are entitled to. On top of that, the DDCA under the leadership of Rohan Jaitley has failed to upgrade the stadium as promised.
Virender Sehwag came in support of Rohan Jaitley
On one hand, Kirti Azad is clapping, on the other hand, 2011 world champion Virender Savhag has supported Rohan Jaitley. Sehwag released a video and said, “In the last several years, you (Rohan Jaitley) have done a very good job in the DDCA stadium. Especially in the DPL you have started, the children have got the opportunity, some children have played first class. Yes, some kids are representing in IPL. So this is a big step that you have taken. So I hope that you will do similar good work in the future also. Congratulating Rohan Jaitley’s team for the elections, Sehwag further said, “I know you will win.”

Meanwhile, Secretary post candidate Sanjay Bhardwaj also took the side of Kirti Azad. He represented Delhi in the Ranji Trophy between 1986 and 1989 and has played with greats like Kirti Azad, Madan Lal, Mohinder Amarnath, Surinder Khanna, Raman Lamba, Sanjay Bhardwaj.
In 2018, he entered DDCA politics and became an ideal candidate with the vision of improving cricket. He was the first person to go on a hunger strike against corruption in DDCA.
