Jangpura seat is considered a safe and influential seat for the Aam Aadmi Party. In 2020 and 2015, AAP had won from here by a huge margin. Manish Sisodia’s exit from this seat is part of the party’s strategy, so that this seat remains under the party’s control. Also, Manish Sisodia remained in jail for a long time during the last 5 years. Even before that, due to liquor scam and being the Deputy CM, he was not able to give much time to the people of his area. In such a situation, Aam Aadmi Party had a fear that an anti-incumbency atmosphere might be created against them, hence AAP has chosen it as a safe seat.
