Delhi capitals: The Delhi Capitals team defeated Mumbai Indians by 2 wickets in their first match of WPL 2025. In this match that stopped the breath, Delhi team won in the last over. Earlier, the Delhi team could not chase such a big target in WPL. Shefali Verma scored the highest 43 runs for Delhi against Mumbai and Nikki Prasad scored 35 runs. Due to these players, Delhi’s team managed to win the match.
Net Second Brant scored a strong half -century
Net Savier Brant hit 13 fours in an unbeaten innings of 80 runs. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur also scored 42 runs in 22 balls. Both added 73 runs in 40 balls in the third wicket partnership. Delhi bowlers, however, made a brilliant comeback, taking eight wickets within 59 runs and dismissed Mumbai for 164 runs in 19.1 overs. After six overs of Powerplay, Mumbai had 42 runs for two wickets. Elis Capies conceded 19 runs in an over. Net Savier Brant and Harmanpreet scored 18 runs in Radha Yadav’s eighth over, including three fours and a six.
Shikha Pandey took two wickets
Fast bowler Shikha Pandey took two wickets for 14 runs while Minnu Mani took an affordable bowling and took one wicket for 23 runs. The rest of the bowlers took a lot of runs. Shikha sent both openers Heli Mathews (0 runs) and Yastika Bhatia (11 runs) to the pavilion.
