Delhi Election,Before the Delhi Assembly elections, the hustle and bustle in the political circles has intensified. Playing a big political gamble, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has included Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and two-time MLA from Kirari Anil Jha in its camp. This step is being seen as a strategy to tap the Purvanchal vote bank in the upcoming elections. At the same time, the resignation of Minister Kailash Gehlot and speculations about cutting of ticket of Rituraj Jha have further heated up the politics of Delhi.
Representation of Purvanchal and role of Anil Jha
Anil Jha, who came to Delhi from Madhubani (Bihar) to study, started his political journey with BJP. Now, by joining AAP, he claims to work in the interest of the Purvanchal residents of Delhi. In the press conference, Jha praised Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his policies. He said,
“The Kejriwal government has done excellent work for the Dalits, backward classes, Mahadalits and especially the people of Purvanchal.”
His statement is being seen as a direct attempt to attract the voters of Purvanchal. Jha also said that BJP never gave priority to the problems of his area.
Kejriwal’s statement: Insult to Purvanchal will no longer be tolerated
AAP national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, while welcoming Anil Jha, said that the Purvanchal residents of Delhi have been victims of neglect for years.
“When DDA failed to build houses for the poor, a large number of people from Purvanchal settled in illegal colonies. Both Congress and BJP did injustice to these people. Our government laid roads, sewers and water pipelines in illegal colonies.”
He also claimed that out of 1750 illegal colonies, the work of laying water pipelines has been completed in 1650.
Target on BJP: Struggle for Purvanchal vote bank
Purvanchal residents are in large numbers in Delhi and they play an important role in the assembly elections. BJP had also tried to tap this vote bank earlier, but this new move by AAP has weakened its strategy. BJP leaders are calling the move a “political stunt”, but party insiders believe it is a big blow to them.
Importance of Purvanchal Vote Bank
More than 40% of the population in Delhi is from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. They live in slums, illegal colonies and low-income sections. Basic amenities, such as water, electricity and education, have always been a major problem in these areas. AAP claims to have solved these problems, which has increased its popularity among the people of Purvanchal.
Doubt over the status of Kailash Gehlot and Rituraj Jha
At the same time, the news of minister Kailash Gehlot’s resignation and Ruturaj Jha’s ticket being canceled are also in the headlines. Political analysts believe that AAP is trying to strike a balance between its workers and leaders. It will be interesting to see how the party tackles this challenge.
Political Analysis: What is AAP’s strategy?
- Purvanchal Card: AAP is clearly focusing on the Purvanchal vote bank in the elections.
- Linking big faces to BJP: By inducting a leader like Anil Jha, the party is trying to make a dent in the traditional voters of BJP.
- Focus on local issues: By prioritizing issues like electricity, water, and education, AAP is strengthening its hold among the poor and middle class.
general public reaction
The common citizens of Delhi are watching this development with great interest. People of Purvanchal say that they want to elect such a leader who understands and solves their problems.
“This is just electoral politics. We have to see who actually works for us.” — a local resident
What will be BJP’s next step?
This situation can be challenging for BJP. The party will now have to find new issues and strategies, so that it can reduce the impact of this move of AAP.
Impact on election results?
Only time will tell how this change will affect the election results. But it is certain that AAP has raised an issue which can become a cause of trouble for BJP.
