Candidates of all parties have been decided for 70 assembly seats in Delhi. Election campaign is also going on loudly. In the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal, the Aam Aadmi Party is expecting power for the fourth time. BJP is also trying to return to power. At the same time, the Congress also wants to end its drought in Delhi. Voting is to be held on 5 February. The results will come on 8 February. Meanwhile, the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and Delhi Election Watch have published the report on all 699 candidates contesting the election. In this report, AAP, BJP, Congress Candidate’s criminal record, education records and property information have been analyzed.
In terms of parties, the most tainted candidates are in the Aam Aadmi Party. After this, the Congress and the lowest tainted candidates are in BJP. At the same time, 46% of the candidates who have entered the electoral fray have studied only from 5th to 12th. 29 candidates are thumb impressions. According to the ADR report, a total of 132 candidates (19%) have declared criminal cases against them. 81 candidates (12%) have revealed serious criminal cases.

According to the ADR report, this time 699 candidates have filled the form. 278 candidates are contesting elections from the national party. 29 candidates are in the fray from the regional party. 254 candidates are trying their luck from a unaccredited party. 138 independent candidates are also contesting elections.

672 candidates were in the fray in the 2020 election. Out of total 699 candidates, 46% i.e. 324 candidates have declared their educational qualification between class 5 and class 12. This reflects basic schooling. While there are 322 candidates to get higher education.
How many tainted candidates?
According to the ADR report, a total of 93 candidates from the national party have mentioned the criminal record in their affidavit. 10 independent candidates have also given details of criminal records. 44 (63%) out of 70 of AAP, 29 (41%) out of 70 of Congress and 20 out of 68 of BJP have declared serious criminal cases against them. In the Delhi Assembly elections, cases are registered against 13 candidates in crime related to women. There are allegations against 2 candidates in the murder case. 5 candidates are accused of attempted murder.
Red alert in 16 assembly seat
According to the ADR report, 16 out of 77 assembly seats in Delhi have red alert. These seats have 3 or more tainted candidates. Overall, 23% of seats are in red alert.
How many tainted candidates on which seat?
Kejriwal’s seat is 6 tainted candidates in New Delhi. Manish is 5 in Jangpura seat of Sisodia and 4-4 tainted candidates in Matiala, Dwarka, Janakpuri and Okhla. In Sadar Bazar, Karawal Nagar, Kalkaji, Delhi Cantonment, Bijwasan, Babarpur, Sultanpur Majra, Rohtas Nagar, Sangam Vihar, and Badarpur seats, 3 candidates have given criminal records. These seats have also been called Red Alert Assembly constituency.
29 illiterate caddate
According to the ADR report, 126 graduates, 84 professional graduates and 104 post-graduates were among the candidates who have received higher education. 8 candidates have a doctoral degree. Apart from this, 18 candidates have diploma. At the same time, 6 candidates have declared themselves literate without formal school education. While 29 has recognized as illiterate.

Most of the candidates contesting elections are 41-50 age group
The ADR has highlighted the trends of age demographic, educational level and political participation in its report. Most of the candidates contesting elections are 41-50 age groups. The number of candidates in the age group of 41-50 is 235, which was 199 in 2020.
According to the ADR report, the number of candidates above 70 years of age has also increased. 19 people contesting elections are 70 years and above. While in 2020 this number was 11.
The lowest and oldest caddate?
Rajendra, the candidate of the Aam Public Mmat Party, is the eldest candidate at the age of 88. On the other hand, the number of candidates between 25 and 30 years of age has come down from 57 in 2020 to 46 in 2025. Bhavna (Independent) and Harshad Chadha (Bahujan Samaj Party), both are the youngest candidates of 25 years.
How many millionaire candidates in the election field?
This time there are 125 millionaire candidates in the election field. Their assets are 5 crore or more. Along with this, 77 candidates with property of 2 crore to 5 crore, 142 candidates with assets of 50 lakh to 2 crore are also in the fray.
