Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to inaugurate the new phase of Namo Bharat Corridor today (Sunday). This 13 kilometer long additional phase is located between Sahibabad and New Ashoknagar. With this inauguration, Namo Bharat train will enter Delhi for the first time. It is being told that the inauguration of this new phase will give a new dimension to the regional connectivity between Delhi and Meerut. Let us tell you that till now the 42 kilometer route is already operational between Sahibabad and Meerut. There are a total of 9 stations on this 42 kilometer route. With the inauguration on Sunday, the total length of this route will now be 55 kilometers and the total number of stations will increase from 9 to 11.
Will run for passengers from 5 pm onwards
After the inauguration by PM Modi, Namo Bharat will be available to passengers from 5 pm on Sunday. This train will run at an interval of every 15 minutes. With the running of this train, the travel time from Delhi to Meerut will be reduced by one-third. Now passengers will be able to reach Meerut from Delhi in just 40 to 45 minutes.
6 kilometer portion will be underground
This new stretch (corridor) is 6 kilometers underground, it also includes Anand Vihar station. This is going to be the first time that Namo Bharat trains will run on an underground route. The underground station built at Anand Vihar is one of the largest stations of the Namo Bharat Corridor. The distance from Anand Vihar station to Meerut South station will be covered in 35 minutes.
Priority has been given to multi-modal integration
Multi-modal integration has been given priority in the Namo Bharat project. The objective of this project is to make travel easy and accessible for the passengers. This project has been prepared under the PM Gati Shakti-National Master Plan. It is said that the construction of Anand Vihar station under this project was technically challenging. But it has been realized with the use of new technology.

The Namo Bharat project has been designed keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers. Under this project, all kinds of facilities have been made available to the passengers. For example, there will be free drinking water and toilet facilities at the station for passengers. Inclusive facilities have also been provided for elderly and disabled passengers. All stations will be completely under CCTV camera surveillance. One coach in every train has been reserved for women. Along with this, seats have been reserved for women, disabled and elderly people in other coaches also. Special spaces for wheelchairs and stretchers have been provided inside Namo Bharat trains. An attendant will be available in every train to solve the problems of passengers and provide them better facilities. To deal with emergencies, a panic button has also been provided inside the coach and on the platform screen door. As soon as you press it, the staff available there will immediately reach there to help you.
Work continues on other phases
Work is also going on on other phases regarding Namo Bharat trains. Construction work is going on at a fast pace from New Ashok Nagar to Sarai Kale Khan and from Meerut South to Modipuram. It is being said that after the completion of the work on Delhi-Ghaziabad and Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor, the total length of this corridor will be 82 kilometers. After the running of trains on this corridor, people will get relief from traffic jams. At the same time, it will also affect pollution. It is being said that after the complete opening of this corridor, the burden of more than one lakh private vehicles on the roads will be reduced. And this will reduce carbon emissions by more than two lakh tons annually.
