The effect of severe cold and dense fog continues in various parts of the country. Due to lack of visibility, many trains are running late by hours and timings of many trains have also been changed. These weather conditions are causing inconvenience in travelling, causing problems to the passengers.
Due to fog, many trains coming to and from Delhi are late. According to Northern Railway, 39 trains are running late, while the timings of 23 have been changed.

Cold day for next 2 days
According to IMD, cold day and fog conditions may persist in North-West and Central India for the next 2 days. The possibility of very dense fog in different places of Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi during late night/morning hours on 3rd and 4th January was already predicted. It is extremely cold in Uttar Pradesh also. Visibility is also very low. Visibility has reduced to 50-100 meters at many places. A warning was issued regarding very dense fog in UP.
Airlines affected
More than 400 flights operating from Indira Gandhi Airport on Friday are delayed. Also 48 aircraft have been cancelled. Movement of planes was facilitated by implementing low visibility procedures on the runway. This caused delays in the operation of many planes.

Jharkhand is in the grip of cold wave since last one week. Due to the cold winds coming from the Himalayan region, a significant drop in minimum and maximum temperatures has been recorded in most areas. In view of the outbreak of cold wave, the district administration in Ranchi city has ordered to keep all the schools closed till January 7.
Even in Bahadurgarh adjacent to the capital Delhi, visibility was only 10 meters. Cold wind is blowing at the speed of 5 kilometers per hour. The level of air pollution here was also recorded as very poor. AQI has crossed 300.
