Deva Review: The formula of remake of South films has been redeeming Bollywood so far. The Hindi remake of the Malayalam Film Police Force, older than a decade, is Deva. Perhaps even after so many years, the memory of Kabir Singh’s tremendous success would have forced actor Shahid Kapoor to rely on the remake’s outdated formula, but his trust has not met. It is, but weak writing has made this spice entertainer a faded experience.

The story of police and gangster is the same story

The backdrop of South’s film was Kerala, the story is established in Mumbai. Wells come on the original story, not the original story. Dev (Shahid Kapoor) is an Angry Young Man Type Police Officer. Who is in an angry nature and till now is a police officer who has not accepted the rules shown in several hundred films, but he is an honest police. He also offends the politician for his duty. On his terms, he is doing duty that the twist in his life comes at that time when his fellow officer Rohan (Powell Gulati) is killed. Dev is about to expose those who plot this murder that he gets an accident and his memory goes away. After going to the end, Rohan’s case again gets to Dev only. Once again he reaches the culprit. Who is the criminal. This is the story ahead. This story is shown in the film through past and present.

Film merits and flaws

At the beginning of the review, it has been said that this film is a remake of the Malayalam film of 2013, due to which there is a tremendous lack of newness in the story. The screenplay is predictable. Angle going to memory adds newness to the story. The climax is different from the South film, but finally the film does not answer many questions. Along with this, the screenplay has not been able to bring Dev’s character on screen properly. There is a contradiction between his principles and work. The authors have also touched the dilemma of losing memory. If the track of politician Apte is suddenly eliminated, then the romance of Dev and Diya in the screenplay is also half -baked. The background of the film does justice to music, while the song music is weak. Amit Roy’s cinematography is definitely good. A little more work could be done on the editing of the film. The action of the film has become good. Consideration is average, while such films need good dialogues.

Shahid Kapoor is strong

Talking about acting, this Shahid Kapoor has made a mark again in his character as an actor. His acting is an important USP of the film. He has brought his popular Arogant Attitude to the screen well. Along with this, he has a different style in the second half of the film. After being tolerated and lost, he has lived his character in different shades. Powell Gulati has also given good performance in limited screen space. He is remembered. Pravesh Rana’s work is also good. Pooja Hegde does justice to her character, although there was nothing to do in the film for her character. The rest of the characters also freeze in their role.
