David Warner played IPL for the first time in 2014, when Sunrisers Hyderabad signed him by paying Rs 5.50 crore. This trend continued till 2017. When he returned in 2019 after missing the 2018 IPL, SRH decided to give him Rs 12.50 crore. It is another matter that after this he was not only removed from the captaincy of the team, but was also out of the playing eleven of the team. When Delhi Capitals signed him in the year 2022, he got Rs 6.25 crore there too. No team showed interest in him in this auction and he went unsold.

David Warner will play in PSL but he will not get the same amount as he was getting in IPL. PCB has also announced that the next season of PSL will be played in February-March, while IPL will start from March.
