Dimuth Karunaratne captained Sri Lanka in 30 Tests.
Former Sri Lankan captain and opening batter Dimuth Karunaratne will retire after playing 100th Test. The match against Australia in Gaul starting on 6 February will be the last international match of his career. The Sri Lanka team is currently trailing 0–1 in the series against Australia.
Karunaratne, 36, decided to retire after battling poor form. Karunaratne scored 7172 in 99 Tests for Sri Lanka and 1316 runs in 50 ODIs. He made his debut for the national team from ODI format in 2011. He scored 17 centuries in both formats.

He scored 16 centuries in a Test career, 244 runs against Bangladesh was his best score.
The first century was held in New Zealand Karunaratne was an important part of Sri Lanka’s Test team. He scored the first Test century in Christchurch, New Zealand in 2014. Since 2015, he scored consecutive runs for the team at the opening position. He scored 196 runs in the day-night Test against Pakistan in 2017, after which he was handed over the Test captain in 2019.
Karunaratne scored 16 Test centuries for Sri Lanka.
